Des King, a member of Buxton Photographic Club, was awarded the London Salon Medal for his photograph On the Course, captured at a golf course near Norwich.

The award was presented at the 2025 London Salon exhibition, currently being held at Gallery 1885.

The London Salon is an international exhibition renowned for showcasing photography that demonstrates “distinct evidence of personal artistic feeling and execution”.

Each year, the London Salon selects a number of works for exhibition and awards up to 10 Salon Medals, with the selection process managed by its members.

These members, who are invited and hold their membership for life, include notable historical figures such as Yousuf Karsh and Lord Caernarfon.

Mr King expressed his delight at receiving the award and encouraged anyone interested in photography to join Buxton Photographic Club, where new members are always welcome.
