We have more excellent on-the-ground sightings from the aftermath in Montreal.

Spin Cycle is Escape Collective’s news digest, published every Monday and Friday. You can read it on the website (obviously) or click here to have it delivered straight to your inbox.
Hello!
Welcome back to Spin Cycle.
We’re still coming down from the high that was the World Championships, and have a final few bits to tell you about from Montreal before we head over to Slovenia for the European Championships this weekend.
But before that, we’ve got a minor conspiracy theory we need your input on.
Double rainbow? 🌈
World champion Brandon McNulty will debut his rainbow jersey at the Giro dell’Emilia this Saturday, as he begins an autumnal Italian programme that will culminate with Il Lombardia.
Will he be riding for himself at the final Monument of the season or be back in service of a returned Tadej Pogačar? Only time will tell.
But before that, it seems like there’s a chance McNulty has borrowed something else of Pogačar’s – his body.
Now, put your tinfoil hat on here, but we’re not 100% convinced the below photograph is of Brandon McNulty. Sure, it’s a tough turnaround to gather the required elements for a studio-grade photograph of your new world champion in the immediate aftermath of a championship win. To get around it before the new-season headshots, teams will often splice heads onto other bodies, but that doesn’t mean we don’t get to play the game of trying to sniff out when they do.

Something just looks a bit off, doesn’t it? The lighting, the neckline, it just doesn’t add up. Now, please look at ‘Brandon’s’ right elbow and the red mark on it and now transfer your gaze below to Tadej Pogačar’s right elbow and the red mark on it.

Sure, these guys are always picking up bumps and scrapes, so is this just a coincidence? We asked UAE Team Emirates and understandably are yet to receive a reply. So let’s imagine their response instead: “It’s October, leave us alone.”
Spotted at Worlds 👀
Remember our eyes and ears on the ground in Montreal last Friday? Well, they’ve delivered once again, with what can only be described as an all-time spot of one of Brandon McNulty’s UAE teammates the day after the American took gold.
