Samsung is expanding its stable One UI 9 rollout for the Galaxy S25 series, with users in the US now starting to receive the update. This comes just days after the company kicked off the rollout in South Korea. The Android 17-based software experience may reach S25 users in global markets starting next week.
Samsung’s Galaxy S25 series gets the stable One UI 9 update in the US
Earlier this week, Samsung rolled out One UI 9 for the Galaxy S26 trio globally. The company simultaneously released the update for Korean Galaxy S25, Fold 7, and Flip 7 units. The 2025 foldables recently picked up the update in the US, and the Galaxy S flagships have now joined them, although availability may vary depending on the carrier and device variant.
The stable One UI 9 release for the Galaxy S25 flagship trio in the US carries firmware version DZIF, while it’s CZIF for the S25 FE. Beta users receive a much smaller download because most of the software is already installed, while users upgrading from One UI 8.5 will need to download a significantly larger package, close to 4GB. Users can check manually by going to Settings > Software update.

Based on Samsung’s One UI 9 rollout pattern for the Galaxy S26 lineup, the update should arrive for global S25 users next week. Of course, the company hasn’t officially confirmed this, but it may not keep users waiting for much longer. We’ll let you know when we have official confirmation.

With this update, Galaxy S25 users gain a lot of new features. One UI 9 brings enhanced new and Galaxy AI capabilities, including My FanCam, which automatically keeps a selected person centered in videos. The update also adds improved Now Brief functionality, new context-aware suggestions, improvements to Document Scan and Voice Recorder, expanded privacy controls, and a new Warranty and Care section in Settings.
