People are being asked to submit their photographs for a storytelling project documenting “everyday moments”.
The Together Through the Lens project is asking people living and working in Cumbria to send in pictures that would become part of an online and in-person gallery.
Rod Ireland from Westmorland and Furness Council, who is leading the project, said they hoped to create a snapshot of the area in 2026.
“It’s not a photography competition, it’s not about taking the best pictures, it’s about sharing what living in Westmorland and Furness means to different people and the stories behind them,” he said.
Ireland told Radio Cumbria: “It might be your favourite local view, it could be a family tradition that you’ve got or a community event, or something that means something to you.”
People living, working or studying in the area are invited to take part.
Submissions are open until 1 November, and the online gallery is expected to go up later that month.
