Wheels for All has announced the reopening of its Widnes hub at Wade Deacon High School, with sessions starting from Saturday, October 10 and continuing every Saturday from 10am to 1pm.
The programme offers disabled people and those with additional needs the opportunity to enjoy cycling in a supportive and accessible environment.
Ben Whittingham, regional manager for the Liverpool City Region, Cheshire, and North Wales at Wheels for All, said: “We’re incredibly excited to be reopening Wheels for All Widnes and to be starting this new chapter at Wade Deacon High School.
“There is a real appetite for inclusive cycling in the local community, and we’re looking forward to welcoming back existing participants as well as meeting new riders and their families.
“Our aim is to make sure that everyone has the opportunity to experience the freedom, fun, and benefits that cycling can bring, regardless of their age or ability.
“Having a regular Saturday session means we can build something sustainable for the local community, and we’re hugely grateful to Wade Deacon High School for helping us make this possible.”
Wheels for All provides a variety of adapted cycles, allowing people with different disabilities and needs to experience cycling in a way that suits them best.
Sessions are supported by trained staff and volunteers, with cycles and activities tailored to individual needs and abilities.
The new hub is part of the charity’s wider goal to expand inclusive cycling across the Liverpool City Region.
The launch event on Saturday, October 10, will provide an opportunity for local people to find out more about Wheels for All, meet the team and volunteers, and experience the inclusive cycling provision available at the new hub.
The Widnes sessions will run every Saturday from 10am to 1pm at Wade Deacon High School on Birchfield Road.
Wheels for All is encouraging the community to come along, get involved, and see how cycling can be made accessible to all.
