Tom Hardy is a tough guy, and not only because his surname says so. His many roles, from an ex-Marine mixed martial arts fighter in Warrior and the super-hench super villain Bane in The Dark Knight Rises, to Charles Bronson, Britain’s most notorious violent prisoner, and underground fixer Harry de Souza in MobLand, have helped cast him as the UK’s leading hard man.

Naturally, that toughness creeps into his everyday life. Even his footwear. Now, Hardy is a bit of a sneakerhead. But he went particularly hard with his footwear when he attended a BGC Group Charity Day, alongside his co-star Helen Mirren, in a pair of all-terrain, seriously tough Vans.

The trainers in question are as hardy as the roles the actor likes to take on.
