Openreach withdraws copper services from 112 more exchanges

Openreach has announced the withdrawal of copper-based phone and broadband services at an additional 112 exchanges across the UK. These exchanges cover a total of 619,724 additional premises, as the operator works to encourage customers to upgrade to new full-fibre connections. Communications providers (CPs) have 12 months’ notice that Openreach will no longer sell legacy copper-based services at these exchanges once full-fibre becomes available to the majority of premises (75%+).
