Duchess Meghan’s address book must read like the guest list for a fundraising gala. She spends time with the likes of Oprah Winfrey and Serena Williams. Her longtime friends are non-profit founders and TV producers/authors. She’s spent years brushing shoulders with international royals and political leaders. Now, you can add activist and Nobel Prize laureate Malala Yousafzai to that inner circle.
Earlier this week, the Duchess of Sussex made a rare public outing as she grabbed lunch with the Pakistani human rights advocate at Claridge’s in London.
For the occasion, Meghan pulled out a top-notch fall look that consisted of her usual mix of chic, quiet-luxury neutrals, but in a more oversize presentation than she tends to favor.

Duchess Meghan is seen with Malala Yousafzai in London.
As her base, Meghan tucked an ivory cashmere sweater from Co into a pair of icy-white high-waisted pants. The relaxed palazzo trousers took the concept of “wide-leg” to the next level, and featured pleats all the way around for an added element of drama.
Meghan added more volume to the look with her toffee-brown shawl from Tove Studio, with its heavy ruffles that swirled around her like drapes.
For accessories, she turned to some of her favorite jewelry from Logan Hollowell, including her diamond-and-emerald chain necklace and her Aura Sleeve ring, as well as her go-to Cartier Love bracelet and Tank watch. Meanwhile, she added to her cocoa color palette with a set of camel loafers from Saint Laurent, while giving everything a subtle contrast with a black quilted camera bag from Chanel.
For her part, Yousafzai wore a sandy blazer over a chocolate blouse and pinstripe pants, while rounding things out with brown leather heels and an ecru-colored headscarf.
Since Meghan and Prince Harry moved back to the U.K. in August, the duchess has been seen meeting up with a few different stars, including Ellen DeGeneres and her wife, Portia de Rossi.
But the last time that Meghan connected with Yousafzai publicly was back in October 2020, when the pair did a joint video chat (along with Harry) for the International Day of the Girl. Following the event, Yousafzai turned to social media to write: “Meghan and I are on the same page: we both believe that when girls have access to education, everyone wins.”
