Women’s health startups can apply for the WomanKind Creative Grant 2027, an opportunity offering professional branding and design services worth US$15,000 to a selected company.

The grant is provided by WomanKind Alliance, a nonprofit organisation supporting companies developing solutions in women’s health. Sponsored by creative agency Alfa Charlie, the programme helps founders build a clear brand identity and communicate their products and mission to customers, investors and other stakeholders.

Applications are open to companies worldwide and close on November 1, 2026.

About the WomanKind Creative Grant

The WomanKind Creative Grant is designed for companies innovating in women’s health that need professional branding support as they prepare to grow.

The selected company will receive a six-week design partnership scheduled to begin in mid-January 2027. The work covers brand strategy, visual identity and key business materials.

Although the support is valued at US$15,000, the award is delivered through professional services rather than a cash payment.

Who Can Apply?

The opportunity is open to startups developing products or services that improve women’s health. Companies at different stages can apply, although the grant is particularly suited to early-stage and Series A businesses that are gaining traction and preparing for growth.

Applicants should have a clear understanding of the health problem they are addressing and be ready to strengthen or redesign their brand.

The organisers assess applications based on:

Originality: How the company approaches a problem in women’s health.
Potential impact: The difference the product or service could make.
Clarity of purpose: How well the company communicates its mission and value.
Understanding of the problem: Evidence that the founders understand the challenge their solution addresses.
Branding needs: Whether the company would benefit from a comprehensive brand strategy and visual identity.

International applicants are eligible, including founders based in Africa. However, selected founders should be available for meetings during the organisers’ standard business hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific Standard Time.

What Does the Grant Cover?

The selected startup receives a six-week branding and design partnership with the following components.

1. Brand Strategy Workshop

A six-hour workshop covering the company’s core values, target audience, competitors, market positioning, unique strengths and brand personality.

2. Visual Brand Identity

Professional development of the company’s visual identity, including its logo, colour palette, typography recommendations and other visual elements. The startup also receives a Brand Compass Book.

3. Business and Marketing Materials

The final week focuses on designing priority brand assets, which may include pitch decks, packaging and other materials needed to communicate the company’s offering.

4. Follow-Up Consultations

Recipients receive three additional consultations to review how the branding is being implemented, obtain feedback and discuss questions that arise.

The services are covered by the grant, so the selected company does not have to pay the usual cost of the design partnership.

What Types of Businesses Are Eligible?

The grant is intended for companies working across women’s health, including femtech innovations.

Potential applicants may include startups developing solutions related to reproductive health, menstrual health, diagnostics, healthcare access and other areas of women’s healthcare.

WomanKind uses an inclusive definition of women’s health that recognises the health experiences of cisgender women, transgender women and non-binary people who identify as women.

How Many Startups Will Be Selected?

WomanKind states that it normally selects one main winner twice a year. It may occasionally provide microgrants or strategy workshops to other applicants, but these additional awards are not guaranteed.

All applicants will be invited to a 30-minute video call by mid-December 2026. The main winner is expected to be notified by December 31, 2026, while other applicants should receive updates in early January 2027.

The selected company should be ready to begin the design partnership in mid-January 2027.

How to Apply

Interested women’s health startups can apply through the official WomanKind Creative Grant application form.

Applicants should be prepared to explain their company, the health problem they are solving, their product or service, their goals and why they need brand strategy and design support.
