A UK fashion retailer that is known for its low prices has announced a 50% off closing down sale at one of its locations.
A UK discount fashion chain is shutting one of its stores, having announced a closing-down sale with 50% price reductions. Pep&Co in Glenrothes, Scotland, is set to close on October 22. It has been operating in the town for the past 11 years, and locals have shared their disappointment over the news. “Unfortunately, we have been informed that after 11 years, the store will be closing on October 22,” staff said in an update shared with locals. Signs for a closing-down sale now show discounts of up to 50% on items that were already rather cheap.
The chain has 32 stores across the UK. Additionally, its products can be found in select Poundland stores across Britain.
Although there are bargains to be had before the store closes, locals are still disappointed by its shuttering. One Facebook user commented: “Another good shop going, there will be nothing left, sorry for all you with your jobs.”
Another said: “I’m so heartbroken! I’m gonna miss Pep&Co so much, I loved going there.” A third shared: “It was a great wee shop…another one in town closing…so sorry to read this.”
Another commented: “This is so sad, I’m sorry that you are having to go through this, you’ve always been super helpful when I’ve been in the store. Good luck to everyone.”

The British discount fashion retail chain, owned by the South African company Pepkor, a wholly owned subsidiary of Steinhoff International, and based in Watford, England.
The brand opened its first store in the Newlands Shopping Centre in Kettering, Northamptonshire, in July 2015. Since then, it has gone through several changes and phases.
Last year, Gordon Brothers, the new owners of Poundland, announced they would relaunch the Pep&Co brand to replace Pepco-branded products. The company has not shared a statement about the closure of the Glenrothes store.
