Wiltshire Wildlife Trust’s Autumn Appeal aims to raise funds for upgraded boardwalks, improved signage, and better visitor interpretation at Langford Lakes and Lower Moor Farm.
The trust says these improvements will help more people experience and enjoy wildlife in a safe and accessible way.
Becki Mckinlay, director of engagement and fundraising at Wiltshire Wildlife Trust, said: “We want as many people as possible to experience the joy of nature, whether that be through their first go at bird watching in one of our hides or a gentle walk around the lakes taking time to stop and enjoy the views.
“We know Lower Moor Farm and Langford Lakes are already much loved by visitors, and we want everyone to be able to enjoy them.
“We know that when people experience nature, they come to care about it, and they are more likely to take action to protect it.”
At Langford Lakes, the trust plans to build a new accessible boardwalk near the Sand Martin hide, which would form part of a circular route around the lake.
The trust hopes this will enable more people to explore the reserve with confidence.
The appeal also aims to improve interpretation materials in the bird hides, offering clear and engaging information for both experienced birdwatchers and first-time visitors.

A large part of the funding for these works will come from the Landfill Communities Fund, but in order to access those funds, the trust must first raise at least £10,000 in Contributing Third Party (CTP) payments.
These CTP donations are paid directly to the landfill operator rather than the charity, and are not eligible for Gift Aid.
However, the trust said the value of each donation is multiplied by unlocking access to the grant.
For example, a £25 donation can unlock around £250 in funding, while a £100 donation can unlock £1,000.
At Lower Moor Farm, the trust hopes to build a replacement visitor hub with toilets and engaging interpretation, subject to planning permission.
The hub would serve as a more welcoming starting point for visitors and help them make the most of their visit.
New benches are also planned to give people a place to rest and enjoy the natural surroundings.
