Anne McAlpine, who hosts the flagship news programme Reporting Scotland, revealed on Instagram that she is leaving the broadcaster after 14 years.
It comes after the broadcaster announced plans in June to make £160m to £500m in savings across the news, nations and content divisions by 2028/29.
Around 2000 jobs are expected to be cut across the broadcaster, with staff at Glasgow’s Pacific Quay told in August that as many as 60 roles could be lost.

The broadcaster most recently announced 41 job losses at BBC Sport.
The BBC’s latest annual report detailed how the corporation’s financial outlook “deteriorated” in the second half of 2025.
There have also been reports that BBC Scotland will be cut from TV and will become online-only.
Announcing the move on Instagram, McAlpine wrote: “I’m leaving my permanent role with news at the end of next week and heading into a new chapter, with a huge amount of gratitude for the people, friendships, adventures and memories that have made it so special.

“There have been elections and documentaries, Eòrpa and An Là, farms and parliaments, planes and boats, live television and long days in places I never expected to find myself — from Chernobyl to the Calais camp.”
She added: “It’s been a blast. I’ve learned an enormous amount, laughed, cried, travelled further than I ever could have imagined and met my wonderful husband along the way. I’ve also somehow made it through 14 years’ worth of BBC passwords.
“Thank you to everyone who’s been part of it — colleagues, contributors, friends and all those who made the long days worthwhile. And of course, thank you to everyone who watched, listened and supported.”
The 40-year-old said she will continue working in broadcasting as a freelancer.
