While seated with his co-star’s statue, the 62-year-old discussed topics ranging from Celebrity Traitors to the role of creativity in modern life.

He reflected on the success of the Paddington films, the character’s lasting appeal and gave some advice to students at the UEA.

Bonneville said “there is no need to rush and that creativity will save us”.

He also spoke about the importance of imagination, curiosity and creative thinking in today’s fast-paced society.

During the talk, he recommended a shortlist of must-read books, including The Bible, A Tale of Two Cities and the writings of Sir David Attenborough.

When discussing Traitors, he claimed the problem-solving demands would be “way off” his page.
