The practice, at 5 Salisbury Road, provides NHS and private dental care for adults and children.
The announced on-site inspection took place on September 15, and the assessment report was published on September 28.
Inspectors said the practice had met regulations in each of the five areas examined: safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led.
The report said the practice had systems to identify and manage risks, including infection prevention and control.
Staff had the skills, knowledge and experience needed for their roles. Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation, while leadership was effective and there was a culture of continuous improvement.
Staff provided care and treatment in line with current guidance.
Inspectors also said patients were treated with dignity and respect, and were given access to care, support and treatment when required.
Step-free access was available, along with car parking spaces near the practice. The parking included dedicated spaces for disabled people. The practice had five treatment rooms.
At the time of the inspection, 20 people worked at the practice. They included three dentists, 10 dental nurses, three dental therapists, one dental hygienist, one facial aesthetic practitioner and two practice managers.
Inspectors spoke to three dentists, two dental nurses and two practice managers, as well as gathering feedback from staff.
The report noted that the practice offers cosmetic treatments, although some of these are outside the scope of CQC regulation and were not covered by the inspection.
The inspection focused on the service’s dental care and treatment. The provider is Ivydene Dental Practice, and the report recorded the service as being run by the practice.
Two weeks before the inspection, the practice was asked to encourage patients to share their views. Inspectors reviewed feedback received from patients and feedback routinely collected by the practice.
On inspection day, they also obtained comments from patients. The report said this feedback gave a positive view of the dental team and care provided.
Patients commented positively on cleanliness. They said they could book appointments within a timescale acceptable for their needs and had enough time during appointments without feeling rushed.
They also said they received clear information about treatment and related costs, and were involved in decisions about their care.
Patients reported receiving enough information when medicines were prescribed. The practice shared feedback with its team, and staff said it was reviewed.
Where patients made suggestions, the practice said appropriate action would be taken. The report did not identify any regulation breaches during the inspection period.
