From Friday, October 23, the cinema will show films designed to entertain children and families throughout the school holidays.
Rohin Hamedia, general manager at Vue Reading, said: “There’s nothing quite like getting together for a trip to the big screen during the school holidays, and this October half-term there’s a fantastic variety of family entertainment to enjoy at Vue.
“From brand-new adventures in Monster Mia and Wildwood to Shaun the Sheep’s Halloween mischief and the return of the PAW Patrol pups, families can experience some brilliant stories together on the big screen and make the most of their time off.”
Leading the half-term line-up are two new animated films, Monster Mia and Wildwood.
Monster Mia tells the story of a 12-year-old girl who arrives at Rotwood Academy, only to discover she is the only human at a school full of monsters.
The film follows her efforts to keep her identity secret while becoming involved in an adventure that could threaten humans everywhere.
Wildwood, based on the bestselling novel and produced by the studio behind Coraline, follows young Prue as she enters a hidden forest to rescue her brother.
She discovers a world filled with mysterious creatures, warring factions and long-buried secrets.
For fans of familiar favourites, Aardman’s Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom will also be showing.
The story sees Shaun turn into a “mad scientist” after the Farmer accidentally destroys the Flock’s pumpkin patch just before Halloween.
Things quickly go wrong, leading to a missing Farmer and a mysterious creature roaming the woods of Mossingham.
Families can also enjoy budget-friendly screenings with Vue’s Mighty Mornings, offering selected films for just £2.49 when booked online.
This half-term, children can watch PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie, which sees the pups stranded on a dinosaur-filled island after Mayor Humdinger causes a volcano to erupt.
Vue’s Big Shorts series, designed for younger viewers, will also return with dimmed lighting and a relaxed atmosphere.
This half-term’s edition features the Disney Junior Cinema Club 2026, giving little ones a chance to enjoy Disney Junior content on the big screen.
