People living near the site of the Battle of Hastings are being given priority access to buy tickets to see the Bayeux Tapestry in London.
Hastings MP Helena Dollimore said residents in the area would be able to secure exhibition tickets before the general sale.
Residents can book by calling the British Museum box office and will need to provide a postcode and use a payment card registered to a Hastings or Rother billing address.
Dollimore said the return of the Bayeux Tapestry to the UK, after its loan from France, was the “exhibition of a generation“.
She said she pushed to ensure residents would be prioritised “to see this piece of our local heritage on the national stage”.
Residents can make one booking per household during the priority period, with a maximum of 10 tickets available per booking.
Priority booking will open at 10:00 BST on Monday, 48 hours before tickets go on sale to the public on Wednesday, the MP said.
