The rainfall radar for Manchester on Saturday morning
Oasis fans are once again set to descend upon Heaton Park in their thousands as the band perform their final two homecoming gigs.
But while the first weekend saw fans at the concert donning their bucket hats for scorching 30C heat, this weekend may well be a very different story.
The past week has already seen the sunshine break into scattered showers across the city, and there is a chance that this will continue over the weekend.
The Met Office has issued a yellow thunderstorm warning for the region, coming into effect at 9pm on Friday until 6pm on Saturday. They have warned torrential downpours are expected to bring 20-30 mm in less than an hour in many places, with 60-90 mm in less than three hours possible in other areas.

Alex Burkill, a meteorologist at the Met Office, said: “In the south and east, there is further chance of staying dry and some decent sunshine on offer.
“So there’s a lot of heat around, high humidity as well, quite uncomfortable for some of us.

“As we go into the weekend, with the heat and the humidity, there’s a fairly strong chance that we are going to see some heavy, thundery rain, feeding up from the south.
“That is likely to become pretty widespread across much of the country as we go through Saturday and into Sunday.”
Here is an hour by hour forecast for this weekend, and it’s fair to say if you’re heading out a raincoat might be a good idea.

Manchester’s forecast for the weekend
According to the national weather service’s rainfall radar map, heavy rain will hit Manchester from around 4am on Saturday morning.
Saturday morning is off to a dramatic start, with thunder and lightning predicted around 6am, with the temperature set to start off at around 17C.
As we move through the morning the temperature will rise up, reaching 20C by 11am.
However, Met Office rainfall maps show the region will be hit by a heavy deluge of rain with some risk of thunder and lightning from 10am onwards, starting out in Oldham before moving westwards and covering the whole of the region by 11am.
This is predicted to continue on and off for the next couple of hours, with heavy rain expected until mid-afternoon.
As we move into the afternoon things are forecast to dry out from 3pm as fans begin making their way to Heaton Park and the temperature is set to continue rising, going from 20C at midday until it peaks at 22C at 3pm.
But moving into Saturday evening, the BBC Weather forecast predicts a 17 percent risk of thunder and rain is set to return at 7pm, with Oasis scheduled to take to the stage just after 8pm.

Although it is likely to remain dry for the concert, there is a small chance of thunder and rain, which the BBC predicts at 19 percent chance between 7pm and 8pm, easing during the concert’s second hour.
However by the time fans are leaving around at around 10.30pm there is a chance thunder could return, with the BBC predicting a 34 percent of thunder and rain, though the Met Office rain map indicates that, hopefully, the rain may have cleared by this time.
Moving into Sunday and we’re off to a slightly cooler start at 16C in the morning, rising to 19C by midday, with some sunshine between the clouds.
Sadly this is not predicted to last as rain is predicted across Greater Manchester from around 8am. There is a 70 percent of chance of rain predicted by the BBC between 9am all the way until 1pm.
Going into Sunday afternoon and the temperature is set to continue rising from 19C at midday up to a peak of 21C at around 4pm.
Fans making their way up for the final reunion concert can again expect a wet and thundery journey, with a chance of rain and thunder throughout the whole afternoon.
BBC Weather currently says there is between 31 percent and 58 percent of heavy rain on Sunday afternoon, although it is set to ease by the early evening, with the chances of rain receding from 7pm onwards.
