North Wales Crusaders have secured a place in the Rugby Football League (RFL) Championship for 2027 despite initially withdrawing their bid for a licence.

Crusaders withdrew from the process of bidding for a licence earlier this month after the RFL requested £150,000 in an escrow account to prove financial funding was in place.

However, in a statement, the RFL says Crusaders owner Jamie Elkaleh “has revised his business plan and now satisfies all the governing bodies’ enquiries”.

“This is great news for North Wales Crusaders and us, as a sport, as we look forward to the new season,” said RFL chief executive Ian Nolan.

“I’d like to thank Jamie for all his hard work in getting to this endgame.”
