We at Knight Edge Media learned earlier this month that the character Moira MacTaggert will make a brief appearance in Marvel Studios’ upcoming X-Men reboot. The character had a brief cameo in X-Men: Last Stand but is better known for appearing in X-Men: First Class and X-Men: Apocalypse as an American CIA agent played by Rose Byrne.

We have exclusively learned that breakout Norwegian actress Renate Reinsve (Backrooms, The Worst Person in the World) met with the studio about the role. The studio is currently looking at European actresses for the role, as the character is Scottish in the original comics. This is ironic because about a year ago, while on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, she explicitly told host Josh Horowitz she has no desire to join a Marvel Studios movie and wants to stick to indie projects. Though she may have meant a superhero role that takes years of dedication, not a simple human role like Moira. It’s currently unknown how the meeting went and if she is still in the running for the role. Production on X-Men will begin sometime in early 2027.

X-Men is currently slated to hit theaters on May 5th, 2028
