New Prime Video romantic drama The Map That Leads to You has jumped straight to the top of the UK trending chart.
The film was only released on the streamer yesterday, and has already proved to be incredibly popular with viewers, sitting as the most-watched film in the UK Top 10.
Featuring Outer Banks’ Madelyn Cline and Riverdale’s KJ Apa, The Map That Leads to You focuses on a young woman named Heather (Cline), who is “traveling Europe with friends before starting her perfectly planned life”.

Variety called the film a “terrific travel romance”, adding that director Lasse Hallström “delivers a heartening, charming and empowering romance that never loses focus on its heroine’s poignant predicament”.

The film was further labelled a “summer treat” by The Times, who suggested it was a “guilty-pleasure” and a “Gen Z version of Before Sunrise.”
“It is destined to be a hit with a young audience that is replayed over and over again during sleepovers at the end of summer – a reminder that sometimes it’s not about the destination, but the memories and emotions you gather along the way,” added Next Best Picture.
Despite these glowing reviews, the film has garnered a mixed response overall, with Rotten Tomatoes currently reporting an approval rating of 38% from 16 reviews.

“The film tries to deliver a sweeping romance about destiny, heartbreak, and self-discovery, but instead, it plays things so safely that it rarely feels alive,” opined Loud and Clear Reviews, while The Guardian called it “familiar”
The Map That Leads to You is based on the book of the same name by JP Monninger, and also stars The School for Good and Evil’s Sofia Wylie, Ozark’s Madison Thompson and Yellowstone’s Josh Lucas.
