Tour de France Green Jersey winner will race in Lidl-Trek colors for the next four seasons
Lidl-Trek is delighted to announce that Tour de France Green Jersey winner Jonathan Milan has signed a contract extension that will keep him with the Team through 2029.
In just two seasons, Milan has established himself as one of the fastest sprinters in the peloton. His debut year in Lidl-Trek colors got off to a flying start, as the Italian quickly grew comfortable with the leadout train built around him. He went on to claim 11 victories in 2024, including three Giro d’Italia stages and a second consecutive Ciclamino Jersey.
In 2025, Milan has already added eight more wins to his tally, with plenty of racing still ahead. His biggest success came in July, when he made his Tour de France debut and immediately set his sights on the Green Jersey. With a strong team around him, Milan won two stages and, after three hard weeks, stood on the Champs-Élysées in the Green Jersey—every sprinter’s dream.
The Italian, who also boasts Olympic and World titles on the track, has proven himself a formidable force in the bunch sprints. Still only 24 years old, Milan is getting faster each season, and with trusted leadout men Edward Theuns and Simone Consonni also signed through 2027, the foundations are in place for even more success.
I feel really lucky that I get to race together with this group of riders and I am constantly amazed by the work of my teammates and thankful for what they do to help me try to cross the line first. I truly believe that we can keep raising the bar and chase even bigger goals together.”

“The atmosphere at Lidl-Trek is truly special, the people here have quickly become like a second family to me, and that makes a huge difference when you’re giving everything on the bike,” said Jonathan Milan. “We have already shared some incredible moments and I am really proud of what we have achieved together so far: multiple Grand Tour stage victories, leader’s jerseys, and always fighting together as one Team.
“Lidl-Trek really has become my home, so it felt like a natural decision to extend my contract until the end of 2029. The commitment Lidl-Trek has shown to me and the support and confidence they give me as I continue to develop as a rider keeps me motivated for what’s still to come. I feel really lucky that I get to race together with this group of riders and I am constantly amazed by the work of my teammates and thankful for what they do to help me try to cross the line first. I truly believe that we can keep raising the bar and chase even bigger goals together.”
“Before we signed Jonny in 2024, we already knew he was a huge talent for the future, but in the two years since he has surpassed even our high expectations,” said Luca Guercilena, Lidl-Trek General Manager. “Jonny has integrated seamlessly with the Team, and together with his leadout train he has created one of the most effective sprint set-ups in the peloton. What he has achieved in just two seasons is remarkable, and with four more years to come we are excited to see just how high he can climb. His raw power and finishing speed are extraordinary, but equally impressive is his humility and the way he values his teammates. We are proud to continue this journey with him and confident that even greater victories lie ahead.”
