Christian Horner is set to make a “sensational” Formula 1 return after his sacking from Red Bull.

Early in July, a statement from Red Bull GmbH read: “Red Bull has released Christian Horner from his operational duties with effect from today (Wednesday, July 9) and has appointed Laurent Mekies as CEO of Red Bull Racing.”

F1 commentator Nelson Valkenberg identified the two destinations which would be most viable should Mr Horner wish to return to F1.

Mr Horner was recently spotted in public for the first time since his departure from Red Bull, with PlanetF1 reporting that he was seen on holiday in Croatia with his family.
