Willie le Roux has been ruled out of Saturday’s rematch with Australia in Cape Town after picking up a niggle in training earlier in the week.
The Springbok centurion was selected initially at fullback as one of 10 changes to the run-on team, but has now been replaced by Aphelele Fassi.
Fassi started in the No.15 jersey in last week’s 38-22 defeat to the Wallabies, but was unable to make much of an impression in an attacking sense, carrying for just 29 metres.
With le Roux failing to recover in time, the 27-year-old now gets a chance to redeem himself in what will be his 14th cap.
