Nottingham Forest claimed a draw from behind against Crystal Palace as the speculation continued surrounding the future of Nuno Espirito Santo.

Espirito Santo has issued demands to Evangelos Marinakis ahead of crunch talks this week that will likely include Edu as a truce looks to be called.

Forest claimed a draw at Selhurst Park after Callum Hudson-Odoi equalised in the 57th minute to cancel out Ismaila Sarr’s opening goal, which came in the first half.

After the game, the attention once again turned to the head coach, and Espirito Santo applauded the supporters who raucously sang his name.

If Espirito Santo does leave the City Ground, one of the unhappiest players will be the Forest number 10 Gibbs-White, who has a close rapport with the head coach.

Gibbs-White has grown as a footballer under Espirito Santo and it’s fair to say that the last thing the club needs is to do anything that would make the attacker unhappy.

Meetings will take place with Espirito Santo and Marinakis this week and the hope will be that a resolution can be sought for the head coach to continue.

When Espirito Santo went over to the fans who sang his name, Gibbs-White was seen getting the Forest fans motivated to sing his name louder in appreciation for the gaffer.

Forest have to stick with Espirito Santo

This would be seriously detrimental if Forest send Espirito Santo on his way, with the head coach earning the right to lead the team in the Europa League this season.

Espirito Santo has done wonders during his time at Forest and the hope will be that Edu and Marinakis can do whatever it takes to keep the head coach at the club.

This week does look to be key for the future of Espirito Santo. Clearly, he wants to remain at Forest but it’s likely that he will want some assurances from the powers that be.
