It’s official Emmerdale fans, Aaron Dingle and Robert Sugden “are meant to be together”. Aaron actor Danny Miller has shared his belief that the couple, known as Robron, are each other’s “true love”.

Despite Aaron’s marriage to Robert’s brother John Sugden, Danny suggested Aaron is struggling to deny that Robert is the one he should be with. So much so, he’s forcing things with John after things fell apart for him and Robert in the past.

Believing he could have a happy life away from the village with John, someone who will love him, Aaron will continue to push Robert away despite him knowing Robert is the love of his life. Robert begs him to reconsider his abrupt move, calling it “the biggest mistake of his life” before planting a kiss on his ex.

But Aaron, running away from his true feelings and believing he will be better off with John, instead flees the village unaware of the danger ahead. But a reunion may have been teased, as actor Danny is convinced the pair “are supposed to be together” ahead of John’s exit from the show when his killer ways are finally exposed.

Danny shared: “I do think they are supposed to be together, yeah. I do believe they are two people who have always needed each other. This is an opportunity for Robert to express that and Aaron manages to find a way of pushing him away because he knows from previous experiences that him and Robert shouldn’t work.

“Although they do work and want to work, they haven’t in the past and he’s got a lot of anger towards Robert for handing himself into the police and cutting ties with him in prison. So there’s all that to play but the short answer is yes, I do think they are meant to be together.”

That’s good enough for us! But could a reunion be on the cards? It seems Aaron will struggle to see Robert’s real intentions, believing he’s simply causing trouble. Danny explained: “It’s his last-ditch attempt to save him from making the biggest mistake of his life, as he says a few times.

“Aaron just thinks this is the same old Robert from years ago trying to manipulate the situation to his favour. Aaron just wants someone to love him. This is his attempt to get him to stay and I dunno, have that fairytale ending where John goes off into the distance on his own, and Aaron gets back with Robert, and they all live happily ever after.

“But it’s a soap and it doesn’t work like that, so Aaron is not finding it as easy as Robert wants him to, which pushes him away as a result. That’s when Aaron decides he’s gonna make a go of things with John because he can’t keep living like this. If Robert is in the village then I need to go because he’s not going anywhere.”

But Danny hinted Aaron is with John out of guilt, and it’s Robert who is his true love. He explained: “He wants to put the blinkers on and keep his eyes closed, and head for what he thinks is the love of his life.

“He’s trying to make it out like that. Since Robert’s been back it’s been harder for him to do that hence him cheating on John, which is hard to do when it feels so against your character. Aaron is so loyal all the time and it’s always difficult to play that when you don’t necessarily think it’s the right thing for your character, but what you have to remember is during all of this, it’s Robert at the end of it, his genuine true love.”

On working with Robert actor Ryan Hawley again, Danny shared: “It’s been nice. It is refreshing to work with him. It’s always nice when someone comes back to the show especially someone in your main character group and it’s like we’ve picked up where we left off.

“He still annoys me immensely but we have always been very close even outside of Emmerdale.” On the fans still championing Robron, he added: “It’s nice. We’ve had fans stood outside the studios with Robron t-shirts, it’s nice. It’s nice to be a part of something still respected and loved after all these years for sure.”
