BEN TURNER: I DID WHAT I HAD TO DO
I don’t know what to say to be honest. It’s been a super crazy week. I wanted to come to the Vuelta but I’ve had issues with my leg a lot since the Giro and the team really believed in me. I went to Renewi and they said they needed me, so of course you say yeah. I’d do anything to race these races. It’s just a crazy feeling. I was devastated in the first sprint when my chain came off but I really believed in myself today. I felt really good all day and… I don’t know what to say, just thank you to the boys.
Such a good atmosphere at this race and they’ve been amazing, all of them. The last few weeks have been incredible, what all the boys did today. Kwiato, in Poland and here, all the results wouldn’t have been without him. Today I just had the best guys around me and I did what I had to do. It came perfect. It was the perfect finish for me and I really believed in what I could do on it. The last hundred felt so long, though. Just amazing.
