Rangers hero Kris Boyd couldn’t resist trolling Celtic after they crashed out of the Champions League.

Brendan Rodgers’ side went into the two-legged playoff with Kairat Almaty as heavy favourites – but failed to break the minnows down over 210 minutes of football.

After a meek showing in Kazakhstan, Celtic’s struggling stars would go on to miss three penalties in the shoot-out as they blew their shot at the £40million league phase.

And Boyd was quick to pile on the misery after the full-time whistle amid fan unrest over the lack of transfer spending – with chants of ‘sack the board’ ringing out during both legs of the crucial clash from the Hoops’ fans.

The former Ibrox star shared a series of Instagram post with the first borrowing Celtic fan anthem Depeche Mode’s ‘Just Can’t Get Enough’ to play in the background of an image of Borat in Kairat Almaty colours holding a placard reading “Sack the Bored”.

One would then show fencing outside of Celtic Park – with the theme music from Jaws playing in the background.

The final post would share a notorious scene from Still Game. Characters Jack and Victor are seen laughing before one notes: “It’s bad laughing but, in’t it?” The other then jumps in: “It’s poor. Celebration bevvy?”
