Garmin has released a new beta update for the Instinct 3 AMOLED, Instinct 3 Solar and Instinct E smartwatches. Beta version 10.18 arrives a few days after the last update for this series, beta version 10.16.
For all Instinct 3 and Instinct E smartwatches, there is a resolution for a problem with the Timer alerts settings. The beta version 10.18 update also brings three bug fixes for the Instinct 3 Solar and Instinct 3 AMOLED smartwatches. The first tackles an issue linked to the flashlight strobe effect, which was not working as expected during multisport activities. The second removes a problem with the Backcountry Ski activity summary, which could cause these smartwatches to crash. Finally, problems with the Jump Rope activity summary data have been resolved.Â
As a reminder, since the last stable update, version 9.25, Garmin has added a new Interval Alerts feature to Timers for non-Tactical edition watches, Jump Rope rep alerts for the Instinct 3, and a Solar Intensity data field for the Instinct 3 Solar smartwatch (curr. $449.99 at Amazon).
According to a recent post in the Garmin forum, beta version 10.18 is rolling out to customers in phases; it should have reached at least 20% of users at the time of writing. It is being pushed to eligible smartwatches over the air (OTA). The company has not indicated when it expects the rollout to be complete.
