Adam Hussain has shared his first message since his Coronation Street exit aired, five years after making his debut in the role of Aadi Alahan.

The actor joined the ITV soap in 2020, taking over the role of Dev and Sunita Alahan’s son from another actor, Zennon Ditchett, who had already played the character for ten years.

Earlier this year, there was speculation that Adam would be bowing out of the long-running show before, in April, the soap star confirmed his plans to leave.

He took to Instagram shared a snap of him with the whole Corrie cast, captured last year, and said: “I guess the secrets out now! As some of you may have heard, I will be leaving Coronation Street for new pastures,’ the actor penned, alongside a recent photo of the full Corrie cast.

“Over the 5 years I’ve spent there I have learned so much about the world and the industry and now feel I am ready to spread my wings a little. I have made friends that will last a lifetime and will surely miss such a special family!”

He finished: “This isn’t a farewell for Aadi however, more like a see you later! I’m excited to see what the future brings! Thank you Coronation Street for giving me such a privilege of portraying this character for you. Until next time!”

Now, Corrie has shared Adam’s farewell message to fans following his final scenes as Aadi airing on Tuesday night (August 26). “Wishing Adam all the best as Aadi leaves the cobbles [heart emoji] #Corrie,” the caption read.

In the video, Adam said: “I just want to say thank you so much to everyone for watching Aadi on Corrie over the years. These past five years have been so educational and such an experience. I’ve made friends that will last a lifetime, I’ve grown, but not just as an actor, but as a person as well.
