Thankfully Cate Blanchett graced the red carpet tonight for the La Grazia premiere during the 2025 Venice International Film Festival, where the Armani Beauty ambassador reminded us all why this festival often feels like hers.

While the big unveiling of her Father Mother Sister Brother premiere gown is still to come on Saturday, Cate gave us a delicious teaser in the form of one of her best Armani Privé recycled gowns. First worn to the 2022 SAG Awards, the gown—with its tonal embellishments and timeless elegance—is proof, once again, that Armani designs age well.

Cate has been known to cleverly rework her red carpet looks—remember the 2020 Venice Film Festival, when she revived an Alexander McQueen look by pairing the embellished top with trousers, giving her 2016 BAFTAs gown a fresh twist?

This time, though, there was no reinvention in sight. Cate simply let the Armani Privé gown shine in its original glory, because when a piece is already perfection, there’s really nothing to improve.
