Richarlison has been a bit of a revelation this season for Tottenham Hotspur, with the striker impressing in Thomas Frank\u2019s first three matches.<\/p>\n

The striker has managed two goals and one assist in Spurs\u2019 first two Premier League games and is quickly becoming Thomas Frank\u2019s<\/a> first-choice number nine.<\/p>\n

TBR Football first revealed that Frank really likes Richarlison as a striker<\/a> and he is quickly becoming a key part of his plans in North London.<\/p>\n

But now, legendary Tottenham Hotspur<\/a> striker Jermain Defoe<\/a> has had his say on the Brazilian following his display at the Etihad Stadium.<\/p>\n

Defoe has been impressed by Richarlison\u2019s<\/a> intensity and hailed his ability to press from the front as \u2018unbelievable\u2019.<\/p>\n

Speaking about the striker\u2019s performance against City, Defoe told NBC Sports<\/a>: \u201cI just felt like Richarlison\u2019s energy levels, it\u2019s unbelievable. <\/p>\n

\u201cHe did not stop running, and we know how hard it is, you know, when you\u2019re pressing with that sort of intensity, I don\u2019t care how good you are as a player, it\u2019s so difficult to play around.\u201d <\/p>\n

Frank has switched up Spurs\u2019 defensive set-up, with the Dane instructing his team to adopt a man-to-man approach against City.<\/p>\n

Richarlison, who Theo Walcott has also praised<\/a>, played a pivotal role in Spurs\u2019 second goal at the Etihad Stadium as his press forced James Trafford into rushing his pass into Nico Gonzalez, who Pape Matar Sarr then stole the ball from.<\/p>\n

The Lilywhites\u2019 impressive pressing ability has been very effective so far and has been led from the front by the 28-year-old.<\/p>\n

The Brazilian international has always been a player who works hard for the team and that is quickly making him a key member of Frank\u2019s side.<\/p>\n

Thomas Frank shuts down Richarlison links to Newcastle<\/p>\n

Frank has already shut down talk of a potential exit of Richarlison and claimed that the Brazilian is now his \u201cstarting number nine\u201d.<\/p>\n

Richarlison has been linked with Newcastle<\/a> in their hunt for a striker, but that now looks unlikely given how Frank views him.<\/p>\n

\u201cRight now, he is my starting nine, he scored two fantastic goals, he had two fantastic games \u2013 he\u2019s Brazil\u2019s number nine.<\/p>\n
