Login<\/p>\n<p>My colleague John Authers <a href=\"https:\/\/www.afr.com\/link\/follow-20180101-p5mntw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">recently argued<\/a> that George Orwell\u2019s 1984 (1949) is the most prophetic novel about our era.
