{"id":101211,"date":"2025-08-29T16:34:08","date_gmt":"2025-08-29T16:34:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/101211\/"},"modified":"2025-08-29T16:34:08","modified_gmt":"2025-08-29T16:34:08","slug":"foulshaw-moss-dad-osprey-feeds-nest-two-youngsters-after-his-migrated","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/101211\/","title":{"rendered":"Foulshaw Moss: Dad osprey feeds nest two youngsters after his migrated"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n  Dad White YW, the long-standing male at the South Cumbria reserve, has continued to bring fish to the new nest two up to two to\u00a0three times a day \u2013 despite his three chicks from this year already leaving on migration.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  A youngster from nest two,\u00a09K4,\u00a0was spotted on the webcam visiting his neighbour&#8217;s nest,\u00a0however, he was quickly fended off by a &#8216;mysterious un-ringed juvenile.&#8217;\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Speaking on the Cumbria Wildlife Trust Facebook page, a spokesperson said: &#8220;Here&#8217;s nest two youngster, 9K4, making a brief visit next door to have a look at the neighbours&#8217; digs.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  &#8220;They didn&#8217;t stay long as the mysterious un-ringed juvenile that&#8217;s been hanging around quickly saw them off!\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  &#8220;It&#8217;s possible that this osprey originated from a nearby failed nest. Strangely, dad White YW has been feeding them, bringing fish into the nest two or three times a day (perhaps through the goodness of his heart, perhaps he needs his eyesight checked, who knows).\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  &#8220;As for this year&#8217;s three youngsters, we suspect that they&#8217;ve now left the reserve to migrate south.
