Neighbours have spoken of their shock following a horror stabbing on a road in Newton<\/a> Heath.<\/p>\n Police and ambulance crews were called to Gilmerton Drive on Friday at around 7.25pm to reports of a disturbance.<\/p>\n Greater Manchester Police<\/a> have since confirmed that a man in his 20s has been taken to hospital with serious injuries. HIs injuries are consistent with stabs wounds, the force confirmed.<\/p>\n Enquiries are ongoing.<\/p>\n There was a heavy police presence, with a police helicopter seen circling the area for at least an hour. The road remains cordoned off as officers remain at the scene.<\/p>\n One neighbour said that police were at the scene from around 7.30pm. She said: \u201cFrom what I have heard someone was stabbed.<\/p>\n “I hate living round here, things like this are always happening. I hate it.\u201d<\/p>\n Another woman said: \u201cIt\u2019s disgusting round here, something\u2019s always happening.\u201d A little boy stood next to her watching said: \u201cThis is a dangerous street.\u201d<\/p>\n Another neighbour said that armed police were at the scene earlier this evening. \u201cAll I\u2019ve heard was that someone\u2019s been stabbed,\u201d they said.<\/p>\n Images and video from the scene showed police vans, cars, an air ambulance response unit and a Tactical Aid Unit (TAU) van.<\/p>\n Never miss a story with the MEN’s daily Catch Up newsletter – get it in your inbox by signing up here<\/a><\/p>\n A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “We were called around 7.25pm (29\/08\/25) to a disturbance on Gilmerton Drive.<\/p>\n “Emergency services attended and a man in his 20s was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
