But one of those exclusive apps just leaked into the wild, revealing Samsung’s take on Google’s Pixel Screenshots app. The best part is, you can actually try it out! There is a catch, however…

What does Collections even do?

Collections is a place to store useful information, like text documents, links, and images. It can be easily searched, sorted by app, and even summarised with AI. Let’s look at the onboarding process first.

Collections appears within the Settings app in One UI, under Advanced features. This takes you to an intro screen, briefly explaining the feature. It then asks for a couple of permissions, including file access, and knowing what apps are installed on your device.

Once you’ve completed setup, you will be greeted with the Collections home page. It will be empty initially, so you’ll have to share content to it. Before you can do that, you will want to add a home screen shortcut first. Tap the three dots, and then Settings. Then enable the shortcut. It will now show up on your home screen and the system share sheet. Collections will only appear in the system share menu if a compatible file type is being shared, such as an image, link, or document.

Once you’ve added some content, the collections app will start to populate. Right at the top, you can filter content according to the apps you’ve shared from. When an item is selected, you can view it and summarize its contents. Unfortunately, that feature doesn’t seem to work on global versions of One UI just yet.

It’s not a perfect experience

There are more issues with this app, however. It’s poorly translated from Chinese, leading to some awkward sentences or some leftover untranslated text. The core fundamental issue is this app’s reliance on another China-only feature, Intelligent Drag and Drop. You are meant to be able to hold and drag to a sidebar that magically appears, making saving items much more convenient than digging through a share menu. This is not functional, as you might have guessed, which leaves this app in an awkward spot.

[APK] One UI 8 Collection + Intelligent drag and drop is the ultimate management and multitasking tool. You can collect content from anywhere and Galaxy AI will create an organised knowledge base with summaries. Intelligent drag and drop integrates Gemini, Google Lens and more. pic.twitter.com/nsGbrTgYW2

— Galaxy Techie (@GalaxyTechie) August 29, 2025

Unlike Pixel Screenshots, it doesn’t save useful info like the webpage from a screenshot or a location. The star attraction, AI summarization, also doesn’t work. You can’t even add notes or create folders with your saved items. This leaves this app as nothing more than a place to refer back to saved images or links.

However, there is a ton of potential in Samsung’s Collections app. It’s currently too reliant on China-exclusive features, but we hope the company decides to roll it out globally at some point.
