Vancouver Island: The Art of the Landscape\u00a0represents a 20-year\u00a0photographic journey of two nature lovers, husband and wife\u00a0Dave Hutchison and Kelly Hutchison, who recently moved to Qualicum Beach.<\/p>\n
The book\u00a0is a visual journey and celebration of the Island and its\u00a0adjacent Gulf Islands, as seen by nature and wildlife photographer Dave Hutchison, according to a news release.<\/p>\n
It features more than 150 colour images of the islands’\u00a0diverse landscapes, flora, fauna, cityscapes and wildlife.<\/p>\n
Dave and Kelly\u00a0shared a vision: to create a pictorial fine art book,\u00a0filled with scenic images, which both preserves and honours the landscape in time.<\/p>\n
The narrative is woven through Dave\u2019s personal experiences, as he shares the stories behind his photos, offers tips on his favourite locations, and delves into the islands\u2019 fascinating history.<\/p>\n
\u201cNot merely a collection of photographs, this book is a love letter, a tribute, to a place that has given us so much,\u201d the authors said in the release.<\/p>\n
The book is organized into seven geographical regions for easy reference: Victoria, Sidney and the Saanich Peninsula; Cowichan and Carmanah Valleys, Nanaimo and Parksville; the Southern Gulf Islands; Sooke to Port Renfrew West Coast Corridor; Tofino, Ucluelet, Bamfield and area; Comox Valley, Campbell River and area; and northern Vancouver Island.<\/p>\n
