\n\tAhmir Thompson, known as Questlove<\/a>, has shared an update on the live-action hybrid adaptation of The Aristocats he was set to direct at Disney<\/a>, and it\u2019s not good news.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe musician recently revealed in a podcast that the remake of the Disney classic had been scrapped and it wasn\u2019t happening anymore but hoped that it could in the future.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cOnce Disney had their third president, usually when a new administration comes in, no matter what \u2014 they\u2019re going to reshuffle,\u201d he said on Score: The Podcast<\/a> recently.<\/p>\n

\n\tQuestlove noted that it was \u201cthe third time in which a new administration came in\u201d and explained his vision for\u00a0The Aristocats\u00a0adaptation. He said that he had presented \u201csome of the music examples\u201d and some of the teammates who would be working with him.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThen they had another administration shuffle,\u201d he added. \u201cAnd then it was like, \u2018OK, well, alright.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tQuestlove said that \u201cby the third time, I was just like, \u2018Maybe this isn\u2019t meant for me.’\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tSince\u00a0The Aristocats\u00a0was not moving forward, Questlove opted to explore other options and steer clear of the Disney remake.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI would have loved to have done that project, but there\u2019s like 20 others that I can get to,\u201d he said. \u201cWhat I don\u2019t do is I don\u2019t make announcements until it\u2019s ready but there\u2019s literally four other films. I\u2019ll be working til 2029-2030. So, just wasn\u2019t meant to happen. Maybe it will happen in the future.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tDeadline reported in 2023 that Questlove would make his feature film directorial debut<\/a> in a live-action\/hybrid remake of The Aristocats, where he would also executive produce and oversee the music for the film. Attached to the script was Will Gluck and Keith Bunin. Tarik Trotter, Shawn Gee, and Zarah Zohlman would have exec produced on behalf of Two One Five Entertainment, and Gluck and his production company, Olive Bridge, were set to produce along with Thompson\u2019s Two One Five.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Aristocats is a 1970 animated film by Disney about a family of Parisian felines who learn they are set to inherit a fortune from their owner.
