Andy Irving\u2019s move from West Ham to Wrexham could come crashing down despite strong interest.<\/p>\n
Irving has had a torrid time at West Ham<\/a>, and it was assumed that he would put an end to his London Stadium career this summer.<\/p>\n The Scottish international joined the Hammers from Austria Klagenfurt in 2023 and cost around \u00a31.5million. <\/p>\n Irving<\/a> has had an unconventional professional career and looked set to head to Wales for a stint in his fourth different country, but updates from West Ham<\/a> have indicated he might be staying.<\/p>\n For the most part, this summer, Graham Potter<\/a> has been eager to keep hold of his midfielders.<\/p>\n Lucas Paqueta is still pushing for a move away<\/a>, and Edson Alvarez has joined Fenerbahce on loan, leaving the Hammers short in the middle of the park.<\/p>\n The signings of Mateus Fernandes<\/a> and Soungoutou Magassa will relieve their woes, and should Irving leave, the Irons won\u2019t be concerned about his absence.<\/p>\n The 25-year-old has become known for his professionalism in East London, but has made just 12 competitive appearances for the Irons.<\/p>\n Wrexham are owned by billionaire owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenneyIrving is on just \u00a35,000 a week for West Ham, according to Capology<\/a><\/p>\n He looked set to join Wrexham, but according to West Ham Football on X, the move is in doubt due to very high agent demands.<\/p>\n The only saving grace for West Ham is that Millwall have also shown interest in Irving<\/a> this summer, and with a move to Wrexham in doubt, the Lions could return with a bid.<\/p>\n West Ham must avoid odd signings like Andy Irving<\/p>\n The Hammers have completed many strange signings in the last few years.<\/p>\n Niclas Fullkrug\u2019s \u00a327million move to West Ham<\/a> is perhaps the most bizarre of any of their incomings, with the 32-year-old struggling for form and fitness since leaving Dortmund.<\/p>\n Irving\u2019s move from Austrian second division side Austria Klagenfurt is also up there.<\/p>\n The Scotland international only had experience in the Scottish Premiership and showed promise in the Austrian second division before heading to the London Stadium.<\/a><\/p>\n His unwillingness to be moved on has only compounded the confusion surrounding his signing, and West Ham must avoid making the same mistakes in the future.<\/p>\n![\"Graham](\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/graham-potter-4-1024x576.jpg\")
