{"id":104540,"date":"2025-08-31T06:58:08","date_gmt":"2025-08-31T06:58:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/104540\/"},"modified":"2025-08-31T06:58:08","modified_gmt":"2025-08-31T06:58:08","slug":"dorset-has-second-longest-gp-wait-times-in-england","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/104540\/","title":{"rendered":"Dorset has second-longest GP wait times in England"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n  Figures from NHS Dorset have revealed that the county has the second-longest wait time for patients getting\u00a0an appointment after 28 days.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  In total 6.88 per cent of\u00a0Dorset patients have waited longer than a month for a GP appointment\u00a0from December 2022 to May 2025.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  This equates to\u00a0370,827 appointments from a total of\u00a05,391,002, which were held by doctors across the county.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  A new study by elderly care firm\u00a0GuardianCarers.co.uk reveals that only NHS Gloucestershire had a higher percentage of patients (8.59) waiting\u00a0for appointments over 28 days in England.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Renate Winkler, Managing Director of <a href=\"https:\/\/eur03.safelinks.protection.outlook.com\/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.guardiancarers.co.uk%2F&amp;data=05%7C02%7Candy.jones%40newsquest.co.uk%7Cd6b89dd8cc094bd9fe6308dddfcdd6fc%7Cb0660fd33ef04a73b44ef93c297faf15%7C0%7C0%7C638912797446725610%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJFbXB0eU1hcGkiOnRydWUsIlYiOiIwLjAuMDAwMCIsIlAiOiJXaW4zMiIsIkFOIjoiTWFpbCIsIldUIjoyfQ%3D%3D%7C0%7C%7C%7C&amp;sdata=thMPMrM5445u3IyFnZQnpFC8gyH91Jx1pwwmarVR8Js%3D&amp;reserved=0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">GuardianCarers.co.uk said: &#8220;Reports indicating extensive wait times for GP appointments in regions like Gloucestershire, Dorset, and Norfolk and Waveney are ultimately incredibly troubling.
