Gervonta Davis<\/a> has certainly been unpredictable over the course of his career.<\/p>\n

\u2018Tank\u2019 was last in action in March when he defended his WBA lightweight title against Lamont Roach<\/a>, in a bout that most fans expected to end with another highlight reel knockout win for Davis.<\/p>\n

That wasn\u2019t the case though, as he was pushed all the way by Roach, as the fight ended in a majority decision draw<\/a>, with many onlookers even believing that Roach may have done enough to earn the victory.<\/p>\n

It meant an immediate rematch was expected to take place, but instead Davis has opted for a shock match-up against YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul<\/a> at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia on Friday 14 November.<\/p>\n

Davis has been extremely critical of Paul in the past, with a resurfaced interview<\/a> showing what \u2018Tank\u2019 initially thought of \u2018The Problem Child.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s a clown.\u201d<\/p>\n

Davis was then asked what he would say if his team offered him a fight against Paul, with his comments extremely interesting now the bout is going ahead.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019d laugh at them. I feel as though in my career I can\u2019t do that right now. I ain\u2019t put in enough work. I\u2019m not a Floyd Mayweather, Manny Pacquiao or Canelo Alvarez. I still got work to put in.<\/p>\n

\u201cI still got to have my foot on the gas as far as boxing, if I do that right now they going to look at me as a joke just like they look at Jake Paul.\u201d<\/p>\n

It means it is a big U-turn from Davis, with many observers still questioning his legacy due to not going ahead with the rematch against Roach or taking on WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson in a unification clash.<\/p>\n
