WBC Light-Heavyweight World Champion David Benavidez<\/a> has had his final say on the upcoming \u2018super-fight\u2019 between Canelo Alvarez<\/a> and Terence Crawford<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The pound-for-pounds greats are set to do battle for the undisputed super-middleweight championship on Saturday September 13 at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u2018Bud\u2019 Crawford is set to make his first ever appearance at 168lbs when he faces the Mexican icon in a fortnight. Canelo made the move up to super-middleweight back in 2018 and since then he has gone on to reign as the undisputed champion on two separate occasions.<\/p>\n

Speaking earlier this year<\/a>, Benavidez \u2013 who long chased a fight with the four-belt champion before moving up in weight \u2013 backed Canelo to get the victory over Crawford.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think Canelo\u2019s gonna win, only because of the size, you know what I mean? Crawford is coming up three weight classes so I think, you know, Canelo\u2019s more of a natural super-middleweight, this is Crawford\u2019s first super-middleweight fight so I gotta go for him.\u201d<\/p>\n

More recently, speaking to the Ring Magazine<\/a>, the light-heavyweight world champion backed down on picking a winner but revealed he is leaning towards an early finish.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt might end in a KO. I don\u2019t know if it\u2019s late or early, and it might be Canelo or Crawford.\u201d<\/p>\n

Though he is the naturally bigger man, victory for Alvarez would still be an impressive win given Crawford\u2019s reputation and status in the sport.
