Novak Djokovic<\/a> has reached all four major quarter-finals this season. But will the record holder for most weeks at No. 1 in the PIF ATP Rankings add a 25th Slam title to his collection at the US Open<\/a>?<\/p>\n

The 38-year-old knows the job is nowhere near done in New York. <\/p>\n

\u201c[It is] still a very long way. For me, [the] past couple of years, I learned one thing [I need to do] right now is to take really one match at a time,\u201d Djokovic said. \u201cAnd yes, of course I’m dreaming about winning another Slam, and it would be amazing if I do it here.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut I can’t allow myself to go that far with my thinking, because, yeah, I just need to focus on what needs to be done to win a match, next match, next challenge. The last Grand Slam I won was here actually two years ago, so it would be a nice journey in the past couple of years to close the circle here again.\u201d<\/p>\n

The four-time US Open<\/a> champion faces defending finalist Taylor Fritz<\/a> in the quarter-finals. He leads their Lexus ATP Head2Head series 10-0 entering the clash.<\/p>\n

\u201cPressure is always there, but maybe a little bit less because you have more confidence coming into the matchup that you know that you never lost,\u201d Djokovic said. \u201cYou like matching up with the guys that you never lost against. But at the same time, there’s always anticipation for those matches.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 100-time tour-level titlist specifically referenced his series with Gael Monfils<\/a>, against whom he owns a 20-0 advantage.<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery single time I play him, people are [saying], \u2018Okay, is this the time where he’s going to beat me or not?\u2019\u201d Djokovic said. \u201cThen there’s always that added pressure that you feel on the court that you need to win. You don’t want to let him win even one.\u201d<\/p>\n

Djokovic holds a 94-14 record at the US Open<\/a> according to the Infosys ATP Win\/Loss Index, but has bounced back this year in New York despite physical issues in his first four matches. The 38-year-old is now three victories from earning his first major trophy since the 2023 US Open<\/a>.<\/p>\n
