Primo\u017e Rogli\u010d<\/a> is set to compete at the Road World Championships<\/a> in Rwanda this month, as part of the Slovenian team assembled around current world champion Tadej Poga\u010dar<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Slovenian selection has not been officially revealed, but Het Laatste Nieuws reported on Monday<\/a> that their sources indicate that Rogli\u010d will be part of it, with Poga\u010dar’s intention to race the Worlds already well known.<\/p>\n

Rogli\u010d rode both the Giro d’Italia and Tour de France<\/a> this year, but hasn’t raced since the Cl\u00e1sica San Sebasti\u00e1n at the start of August, and it was not previously clear how he was going to round out his 2025 season, understandably skipping the Vuelta a Espa\u00f1a<\/a> despite winning four editions of the Spanish race.<\/p>\n

According to Het Laatste Nieuws, Rogli\u010d will not race the time trial in Rwanda, opting just for the road race. With Poga\u010dar the defending champion and hoping to take a second title \u2013 especially in the absence of Jonas Vingegaard<\/a> \u2013 Slovenia will likely be assembling their strongest riders in pursuit of that goal.<\/p>\n

HLN<\/a> also report that Rogli\u010d will not be doing any warm-up races in the lead-up to the Worlds, opting to skip the GP Qu\u00e9bec and Montr\u00e9al in Canada, where Poga\u010dar will return to racing.<\/p>\n

Many big names have chosen to skip the Worlds in Rwanda, with Vingegaard joining Mathieu van der Poel<\/a> and Wout van Aert<\/a> in the list of riders who would usually be contenders in a Worlds road race but aren’t going to be on the start line in Kigali in four weeks’ time.<\/p>\n

However, with Rogli\u010d, the start list has added another Grand Tour champion, with him, Poga\u010dar, and Remco Evenepoel<\/a> some of the biggest names set to compete in the road race.<\/p>\n

The rest of the Slovenian lineup is yet to be confirmed. As the second-ranked nation on the UCI rankings at the end of the qualification period, Slovenia can field the maximum of eight riders in their team.<\/p>\n

Other riders likely to be selected alongside Poga\u010dar and Rogli\u010d include Matej Mohori\u010d<\/a>, Jan Tratnik, Luka Mezgec, Domen Novak and Gal Glivar.<\/p>\n

They may also enter two riders into the elite time trial.
