Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere, the “stunning” new biopic<\/a> starring Stephen Graham<\/a>, has debuted with a perfect Rotten Tomatoes rating. <\/p>\n

Based on Warren Zanes’ book, Deliver Me from Nowhere follows Springsteen as he crafts his 1982 album Nebraska from his bedroom in New Jersey. <\/p>\n

Per the description: “The album marked a pivotal time in his life and is considered one of his most enduring works \u2013 a raw, haunted acoustic record populated by lost souls searching for a reason to believe.”<\/p>\n

Starring as The Boss himself is The Bear star Jeremy Allen White<\/a>, while Succession’s Jeremy Strong plays Jon Landau, Springsteen\u2019s manager and producer.<\/p>\n

Adolescence star Graham plays the musician’s father Douglas Springsteen and they are joined on the cast by Paul Walter Hauser, Marc Maron, Gaby Hoffmann and Grace Gummer. <\/p>\n

Directed by Scott Cooper, the film had its world premiere at the Telluride Film Festival on 29 August ahead of its cinematic release on 24 October. <\/p>\n

Following the premiere, the first reviews are in and the film currently has a perfect score of 100% on Rotten Tomatoes<\/a> from 12 reviews. <\/p>\n

Many critics praised White’s performance, with Variety<\/a> penning: “It requires a star to play a star, and an actor to access the Boss\u2019s more introspective side, and The Bear sensation Jeremy Allen White slips easily into the worn denim and sleeveless T-shirts that were Springsteen\u2019s signature.”<\/p>\n

“[Jeremy Allen White] doesn\u2019t look a ton like Springsteen… but his performance is steeped in a truth so natural and unforced that by the end of the film you almost forget that he\u2019s playing someone else,” wrote IndieWire<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“White crafts an echo of Springsteen to call his own,” said The Playlist<\/a>. “There is little mimicry even in his excellent live singing, and he embodies Springsteen\u2019s style almost flawlessly. For lack of a better turn of phrase, he is simply awesome.”<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Awards Radar<\/a> raved about the film’s subject matter, saying: “Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere is a stunning look inside the soul of an artist struggling with depression.”<\/p>\n

Echoing that sentiment, RogerEbert.com<\/a> described the film as “a soulful and meditative character study of a depressed artist laid bare”. <\/p>\n

Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere will be released in UK and US cinemas on October 24.<\/p>\n
