{"id":110241,"date":"2025-09-02T23:39:07","date_gmt":"2025-09-02T23:39:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/110241\/"},"modified":"2025-09-02T23:39:07","modified_gmt":"2025-09-02T23:39:07","slug":"six-nations-announce-details-of-new-tv-deal-in-ireland","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/uk\/110241\/","title":{"rendered":"Six Nations announce details of new TV deal in Ireland"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Rugby fans in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rugbypass.com\/teams\/ireland\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ireland<\/a> will be able to watch their national teams on both satellite and free-to-air TV up until at least 2029 after a new long-term deal was signed.<\/p>\n<p>Eight of the 15 fixtures in next year\u2019s Guinness Men\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rugbypass.com\/six-nations\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Six Nations<\/a> matches will be shown live on free-to-air RT\u00c9, while Virgin Media Television has the other seven.<\/p>\n<p>Virgin Media have the bigger share of Ireland fixtures in 2026, having been given three games to RT\u00c9\u2019s two, but the format of fixture sharing will alternate between the broadcasters every year.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, every Women\u2019s and U20s Six Nations match will be shown by either RT\u00c9 or Virgin Media, with three Ireland games being shown by the former in those two championships in the first year.<\/p>\n<p>Commenting on the new partnership with Virgin Media and RT\u00c9, Tom Harrison, CEO of Six Nations Rugby, said: \u201cThe Six Nations sits alongside some of the most loved and respected events in world sport, capturing the attention of millions of global fans every year.
