A former sparring partner of Gervonta Davis<\/a> and Jake Paul<\/a> has spoken out ahead of their controversial showdown later this year.<\/p>\n

It was announced recently that reigning WBA lightweight champion Davis would lock horns with former YouTuber Paul on Friday November 14 at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, with the event broadcast worldwide live on Netflix.<\/p>\n

Paul had also been in talks to face two-time unified world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua<\/a> next but instead \u2018The Problem Child\u2019 will face a man who is eight inches shorter and nearly 70lbs lighter than him.<\/p>\n

\u2018Tank\u2019 Davis had been expected to clash with fellow countryman Lamont Roach Jr for the second time this year following their draw back in March,<\/a> although the plans were shelved after a long period of negotiations came to a halt.<\/p>\n

One man who has trained alongside both Davis and Paul during their respective professional careers is Brooklyn cruiserweight David \u2018Flat Sparks\u2019, who had several fights as a professional between 2014 and 2016. He trained in the Mayweather Gym alongside \u2018Tank\u2019 and was a sparring partner for Paul\u2019s Mike Tyson fight.<\/p>\n

Speaking on Let The Sparks Fly<\/a>, Sparks made no mistake when asked if \u2018Tank\u2019s power will carry against a bigger man.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf [Tank] catch Jake Paul with a clean shot, he\u2019s very well capable of knocking him out. Do I think it\u2019s gonna happen? I don\u2019t think it\u2019s gonna happen, but he\u2019s very well capable of knocking Jake Paul out. He\u2019s not too small. I seen Tank stop all his sparring partners. I\u2019m talking about some dudes big like heavyweight, middleweight \u2014 Tank stopping them. If he catch a big man with a shot, he putting him out. I seen it with my own two eyes.\u201d<\/p>\n

On his experience sparring Paul, Sparks was also complimentary.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy first sparring session with Jake Paul, I was sleeping on him \u2026 I was going light and my man J\u2019Leon told me \u2018you can\u2019t play with this kid\u2019 \u2026 And that\u2019s when [Pau] caught me. And I said, \u2018nah, I can\u2019t play with him.\u2019 \u2026 He can give shots and he can take shots.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen it comes to him and Tank, he\u2019s gonna try to hurt Tank. They\u2019re both gonna try and hurt each other. I think Tank\u2019s best bet is use his boxing experience.\u201d<\/p>\n
