Bestselling novel The Housemaid\u00a0is getting a feature film adaptation from director\u00a0Paul Feig\u00a0(A Simple Favor, Ghostbusters), and Lionsgate has now shifted the film\u2019s release date.<\/p>\n

Originally set for release on Christmas Day (December 25, 2025), Paul Feig\u2019s thriller The Housemaid will now release in theaters one week earlier on December 19, 2025.<\/p>\n

Deadline reports<\/a>, \u201cThe studio is so over the moon\u2026 that the plan is to get the age 18-24 bunch who are off from college, who\u2019ll then spread the word of mouth heading into Christmas.\u201d<\/p>\n

In Paul Feig\u2019s suspense thriller\u00a0The Housemaid, which adapts\u00a0Freida McFadden\u2019s\u00a0novel, \u201cMillie (Sydney Sweeney) is a struggling young woman who is relieved to get a fresh start as a housemaid to Nina (Amanda Seyfried) and Andrew (Brandon Sklenar), a wealthy couple.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe soon learns that the family\u2019s secrets are far more dangerous than her own.\u201d<\/p>\n

Michele Morrone\u00a0also stars in\u00a0The Housemaid.<\/p>\n

Rebecca Sonnenshine\u00a0(\u201cThe Boys\u201d) adapted McFadden\u2019s psychological thriller novel. Published in 2022, the novel was an international bestseller.\u00a0You can grab a copy on Amazon today.<\/a><\/p>\n

The Housemaid\u00a0is actually a three book series, with the third installment published earlier this year. The sequels are titled\u00a0The Housemaid\u2019s Secret\u00a0and\u00a0The Housemaid Is Watching.<\/p>\n
