\nHull KR’s Jez LItten has signed a new long-term deal with the Robins.<\/p>\n

Jez Litten admits it was \u201cmad\u201d when he first joined Hull KR<\/a> – but he now couldn\u2019t be happier signing a new four-year deal with the Super League leaders. The Robins have announced their livewire England hooker has extended his stay with them until the end of 2029.<\/p>\n

Given his consistent quality for the Challenge Cup holders this term, and clear admiration from many of their rivals who have been \u2018fended off\u2019, it is a key piece of business. Litten was already under contract until the end of 2027 after signing a four-year deal as recently as October 2023<\/a>.<\/p>\n

But head coach Willie Peters knows how valuable the dynamic No9 – emerging more and more likely to feature in the Ashes next month – is to their squad and, so, has moved to tie him down on a long-term deal.<\/p>\n

Litten, of course, famously moved across the city from Hull FC<\/a> in 2019 in order to get more game-time.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s done more than that: he\u2019s gone on to develop into one of Super League\u2019s star performers, helping the Robins to Old Trafford last year and proving vital in their bid to return to the Theatre of Dreams to potentially go one better this time around.<\/p>\n

Litten said: \u201cI\u2019m really happy to stay at Hull KR for another four years after this year. I\u2019ve enjoyed my time here since 2019. It\u2019s exciting.<\/p>\n

“The joy we\u2019re having on the pitch and the good stuff going on off the pitch. I spoke with my family and they\u2019re happy. We\u2019re enjoying it here.<\/p>\n

\u201cCrossing over was mad in 2019 but I\u2019ve found a home here. I\u2019m happy to be staying and hopefully the fans are happy to have me as well.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Robins could clinch their first-ever League Leaders\u2019 Shield if, ironically, they beat Hull FC on Sunday<\/a>. Litten has made 151 appearances in Red and White, scoring 21 tries, and was, of course, part of their famous victorious Wembley side in June.<\/p>\n

Litten has become a fan favourite in East Hull and a crucial part of the Robins\u2019 progress in recent years. Known for his bone-rattling work in defence and energy with the ball in hand, his sniping runs have proved a menace for opponents.<\/p>\n

With a clever kicking game out of dummy-half, too, and the ability to play half-back, it’s no wonder England boss Shaun Wane handed him his Test debut against France two years ago and named him in his squad preparing to face the Kangaroos this autumn.<\/p>\n

Peters said: \u201cJez is a vital part of our team: He plays an important role both on and off the field. Jez is going into the prime years of his career and I\u2019m sure we\u2019ll see him reach even greater heights both personally and for Hull KR.<\/p>\n

\u201cI believe Jez has been the best hooker in the competition this year and he has been rewarded for that with this new four-year extension.
