"Elon Elon Musk’s estranged daughter, Vivian Wilson, has said that she is broke despite being the daughter of the world’s richest person, insisting she wants people to know about her “other than just the obvious”. In a new, wide-ranging interview the 21-year-old aspiring model stated she is living with three roommates because it is “cheaper,” a decision that highlights her independence from her billionaire father.“People assume I have a lot of money. I don’t have hundreds of thousands of dollars at my disposal,” Wilson told The Cut magazine in an interview. She acknowledged that while her mother is wealthy, Musk’s fortune is “unimaginable degrees of wealthy.” Wilson added that she has no desire to be superrich and feels fortunate to have a place to live, friends, food, and some “expendable income,” putting her in a more comfortable position than most people her age in Los Angeles.

Vivian Wilson on her upbringing and ambitions

The interview also touched on Wilson’s privileged upbringing, including her attendance at a “private high school filled with nepo babies,” a class that included Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin’s daughter, Apple. She noted she was taught multiple languages, including Korean, Chinese, Japanese, and Spanish. Wilson also revealed that she went to college in both Canada and Japan but eventually dropped out, attributing her lack of “motivation” to the rise of AI.Now represented by an agent, she recently landed a Teen Vogue cover and is navigating her newfound fame. Wilson insists that she is “not very good at being famous,” and has mixed feelings about her new public profile. “I fought so hard for so long to be viewed as a regular person,” she said. “Obviously, I’m still discovering who I am and whatnot. I haven’t gotten the chance to do that yet. I want people to know me as something other than just the obvious, she said, adding, “I kind of miss that. But I also like being famous. I guess I’m kind of indifferent to it. But I like the fact that it makes me money.”Wilson is the eldest of Musk’s 14 children and famously cut ties with the Tesla CEO in 2022 when she legally changed her gender and name. Since then, she has been a vocal critic of her father on social media, at one point calling him a “pathetic man-child” who has not been accepting of her gender identity.
