Thousands report outage<\/p>\n<p>\n  Users of EE have taken to X, formerly Twitter, to share that they are facing problems with the network.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  One user asked EE: &#8220;Why can i not connect to the mobile internet? is your network down?&#8221;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  On X, EE responded to the user, sharing: &#8220;Sorry to hear you&#8217;re having some issues with your service; this must make things difficult for sure.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n    The UK government is testing the Emergency Alerts system on Sunday 7 September 2025 at 3pm. Compatible mobile phones and tablets will receive an alert, make a loud siren-like sound and vibrate. You will not need to take any action.<\/p>\n<p>The Emergency Alerts system is used to warn if\u2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/kHQtKlJzy6\" rel=\"nofollow\">pic.twitter.com\/kHQtKlJzy6<\/a>\n  <\/p>\n<p>\u2014 EE (@EE) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/EE\/status\/1962508950839927289?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">September 1, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\n  &#8220;You can check your network status online and report any problems here https:\/\/coverage.ee.co.uk\/coverage\/ee or please give us a call on 150 from an EE mobile or 07953966150 from any other phone&#8221;.\n<\/p>\n<p>  What is Downdetector?\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\n  Downdetector is an online website that allows users of popular services including X (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thenorthernecho.co.uk\/news\/national\/uk-today\/23627486.twitter-reveals-limit-tweets-users-can-read-per-day\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Twitter<\/a>), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thenorthernecho.co.uk\/news\/23636757.threads-facebook-instagrams-twitter-rival-explained\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Instagram, Facebook<\/a>, Virgin Media and more to report if they are having trouble with the services.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The site only reports an incident when the number of problem reports is significantly higher than the typical volume for that time of day.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Describing itself on its website, Downdetector is \u201cwhere people go when services don\u2019t work.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The website monitors disruptions to various key services including the internet, web hosting platforms, banks, social media and more.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  You can see the full methodology and learn more about how Downdetector collects status information and detects problems via its website.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  In short, users can get involved by submitting any issue reports on the platform.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Problem indicators are also collected from social media and other factors on the web, Downdetector explained.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Recommended reading:\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  These reports are then validated and analysed in real-time.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  An incident is then detected if the number of reports is significantly higher than the typical average for that particular service.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  When a user goes to investigate the issue, they can see what the most reported problems are currently and check if their areas are in one of the outage hotspots.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Do you use Downdetector?
